HISTORY OF TOCOC NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL

              The name Tococ according to legend came from the name “Takuko” a native hat which is abundant during the early years. Tococ Village School is the former name of Tococ National High School. It became the pilot school in Bayambang when it was chosen to be the center of all barangay school activities. This made the school as the window of all the barangay school in Bayambang.


              The Tococ National High School during the early years, was an integrated school started out small from classes under a tree and nipa/ bamboo- made classrooms to concrete classrooms; and from single year level to a four- year- level offering school.

              This high school was under the supervision of the principal of elementary school Mr. Daniel Carungay since it was an integrated school. In year 1988, it was nationalized and separated from elementary with Mrs. Obdulia C. Tandoc as principal with eleven teaching staff. The school was recognized with different school activities.

              It has a total area of Two thousand four hundred seven (2,407) and Two Hundred Fifty five (255) square meters.Situated at Baranay Alinggan, Tococ NHS is the 2nd  largest school in Bayambang in terms of population with over 600 students.Hih School students from northern part of the Municipality of Bayambang such as barangay Alinggan, Banaban, Duera, Sapang, Tococ East and West, Malimpec, and even  Basista’s barangay Nalneran are cradled by Tococ National Hih School. The land was donated by Municipality of Bayambang in representation of Municipal mayor Calixto M. Camacho by the virtue of Resolution No. 219 series of 1988.

              Witnessed all these transformations Mrs. Obdulia C. Tandoc who was one of the pioneering teachers and is the first to become the School’s Principal. She was later succeeded by Dr. Mary Ann J. Payomo in year 2004. As years goes by with leadership of the present principal, the population of the school tremendously increasing both in teaching staff and number of students.

              At present, under the leadership of Dr. Joseph B. Seguin, Tococ National High School is one of the Top Performing School in the Division of Pangasinan I. It stands with enduring pride as one of Top Performing School in Pangasinan I to experience recognition both in academic, cultural and other school activities.

              Geared by its mission and vision, it continues to solidify its substance by implementing the K-12 Senior High School program.
